Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do you run SETI@home?
I run it because of what I think SETI@home stands for.
Although it may sound like a bit of a romantic idea, I like
the idea of people working together to help advance our
understanding of our surroundings.
I think it's worthwhile because of the fact that most people
don't do it for fame, or recognition; just to be a part of
the search because they believe in it.

Thoughts about ETI
I think that there are ET's out there. At the same time, I don't
think that we will discover them. I say this because we are
assuming alot by looking for radio signals which they may be producing.
Other forms of life probably won't resemble us in any way. I guess
its too broad a discussion for a paragraph of words to cover.
I do think that we have to look for them, even if the chances
of finding them are low. In the same way that people look for
cures to diseases without knowing if whether or not they exist.
I think benefits and dangers of discovering ET would depend on the
individual. Most of the worlds religions would have trouble
explaining.
I think we should transmit signals, even though we may not have the greatest
civilisation running around on our little blue planet, to be advertising.
