Profile: Sir Avanor

Personal background
I am regarded by some as an absent minded boffin, and by others as a mad evil genius. I am doing 3rd year Science at Melbourne University and am majoring in Pure Maths. Maths is hard when you have a tendency to make trifling arithmetical errors, so I opted for Pure instead of Applied. Who needs a discipline where they measure your ability to merely crunch numbers rather than understand the concepts.

Amazing as it may sound, I actually have some non-Mathfreak related interests. These include reading and, when I can contrive to find the time, sleeping.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The search for extraterrestrial life is the most worthwhile endeavour in human history. There is no worthier cause to devote my computer's idle time to. I believe this search will eventually be successful, because I imagine that alien races, like us, must be curious about their place in the universe and are reaching to try to find us.
