| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| We have no central heating in office, so SETI is the best way to warm up the room. May be we will find something in space and will be great, but most likely SETI and other boinc's are CIA's or other special service's project for increasing US defence. So enthusiasm of computing spoiled slightly by opacity of this project. We DONT'T KNOW what we really compute. Good that boing is open source, but it's not enough - data is closed source: we getting 1 1 1 1 1 and returning 5. This may mean ET does not found and simultaneously coordinates where US nuclear missiles must be placed... |
