Profile: Andy Urban

Personal background
I first started "playing" with computers back in my home town of Port Arthur, TX in 1985, programming my TI-99 to make prank phone calls and doing math games for my mom's 2nd grade class. Now I am living in Tyler, TX doing what? Land surveying tech. work.... long story... I have a beatufil wife and 3 kids of whom the 9 y.o. is gifted and fascinated with robotics. Well.. it skipped a generation. Good for him!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I think it's the best chance we have of knocking us off of this myth that we are at the center of the universe idea. The policical, social and religious ramifications would be enormous. Chances are that we'll never get to see an ET, but maybe, just maybe we can hear a faint cry from Whoville....

I suggest you do an e-mail your friends to join program. If we got all the idle compooters in the world to do this, maybe you could expand your search?
