Personal background
Born and raised in California, USA. Currently living in San Diego; however, I have lived in over 30 different cities and towns in all parts of California. From the Sierra Nevada mountians to San Francisco to Needles to LA, and from Eureka to Sacramento to San Diego... I love California's diversity and history. I'm an educator at the university and community college level for teachers and other adults, mostly focused in the area of technology integration and use. My hobbies are few because I am a busy single mom with a 16 year old and an 8 year old still at home. I am online a lot and enjoy photography. I've been a part of SetiHome for about 5 years, but took a year off to wonder around aimlessly after a recent divorce.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe in the project SETI@home and I am glad to be a part of it. SETI@home is a brillant way to process massive amounts of celestial information that could not possibly be processed with the limited funds available. Even with all the help, it's still not enough. Much more is needed. Suggestions? People need to get their friends on board. Perhaps SETI@home can make an easy link with instructions on how to place it and the info on Myspace.com pages. That is a popular site with a lot of people with time on their hands.
