Personal background |
I study medicine in Denmark now, but during my previous studies in biochemistry I used to work as a researcher in a medical genetics lab, where this guy had the Seti screensaver. Medicine takes a lot of time and there are very few things that interest me enough to catch my attention during my free time; I dance and play the piano, but reading books (novels, biographies, etc.) mostly happens when I am on vacation (not that often). I feel a growing desire to see the world, have never been outside Europe; want to see that the world is round for myself. Maybe I should do that, instead of surfing Google Earth? |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I heard about the project some years ago and thought it sounded interesting. Then managed to forget about it... Well, had a flashback a few days ago, so here I am, creating an account to participate in the Seti@home project. We will see how it goes; have not got expectations too great, since I am a true beginner at this. I feel excited, though, about learning, hopefully many, new things about the universe; time for me to look up from the electron microscope and even smaller level, and focus on things that are huge on a giant scale, the only difference being that I'm the small one now. Fascinating, beautiful interactions between atoms. |
