Retired programmer.
First computer I ever saw: mainframe programmed with punched paper tape in Maryville, MO when I was in high school (late 70's).
First computer I owned: Coleco ADAM
First Apple computer: Apple //e, followed by IIgs
First Mac: an LC (the pizzabox!)
Current computer: PowerMac G4 466mhz running OS X Tiger |

Ran Seti@Home for many years, got my 100 and 250 result certificates, then broke my iBook. Bought a used iMac (the old "gumdrop" style). After it died I replaced it with a Power Mac G4.
Glad to be back. I believe in the power of distributed computing and hope that it can do some good for science. |
