Profile: Guy

Personal background
Hi, my name is Guy. I'm 47 and divorced. I live in Elizabeth, just north of Adelaide, South Australia. I have 3 daughters 18, 14 & 11 who live with their mother, I see the 2 little ones on week-ends and school holidays. I have known about SETI since about 1996 but the computer I had wasn't good enough to run it. I now have a Celeron 1.7Ghz system so now run it a few hours a night after work (I sell new and S/H computers) while I watch TV or do other things, about 13hrs a work unit. My work computer a PII/266 also runs SETI and takes about 30Hrs a work unit. I swim 3-5 times a week to get fit and for back exercise.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes there is life out there somewhere you would have to be naive not to beleive so, I think we will find it in the next 50 years. Science and computers are advancing so quickly now. I hope SETI has something to do with the find. :)
SETI is a worth while project and gives my computer a workout. 13 hours to process 340K block of data, thats a hammering it helps to justify a powerful computer, otherwise it would be used for e-mail.
