Personal background
I was born in Panama, and moved to every S. American country except Uraguay and Paraguay, and the three Gianas before the age of 14. So... where am I from? I am 69 years young, a retired Earth Science teacher. I like fiddling with electronics, hence my interest in computers. I like to work with wood, having made several pieces of furniture, as well as untold projects over the 69 so far alloted to me. Photography is a passtime rich in rewards, and now with digital it has become less expensive to engage in same.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have little doubt that we are NOT alone. It's just too big a place for only ONE life form... even ONLY ONE intelligent life form. I think the biggest news the world will EVER receive is that intelligent life in the universe has communicated with us or that we may have found THE OTHERS.
I run SETI@home because it doesn't cost me anything and I feel I might be contributing to something my professor, Carl Sagan liked and had an interest in.
