Personal background
I'm a student of Astronomy Department, Nanjing University. I like astronomy, photography, computer and playing aricraft models. I have run SETI@home for years. First using my old computer with a P-3 600 processor, and now using my new DELL laptop, I have finished more than 300 data units. Welcome to my homepage: http://bzhang.lamost.org.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As a student of astronomy department, I think searching for extraterrestrial intelligence is worth doing. Although we may search for years but have no result, we can learn more about the universe we live in and ourselves. If someday we really discover the signals from civilizations on other worlds, we will have a new perspective of the meaning of life. As said in the movie Contact,"if it is just us, it's seems like an awful waste of space". I believe that SETI@home project gives me the chance to be part of the people who work so hardly to find out whether there are intelligence like us living beyond Earth.
