Personal background
I am a 27 year old (no, I am not on the 10 year plan, just a slow starter) college student living in Fresno CA. As an engineering/physics major I began my studies of astronomy because of the math involved. Currently I have a 10" Dob, and a 6" equitorial reflector, and have been looking into the design of possible radio telescopes. I am currently bartending at Tony Roma's here in town which affords me many late night observing sessions and study sessions.
I have many hobbies other than Astronomy, though with school I find myself restricted to the ammount of time I can spend on extracurricular activities. I hope that the computing power of my 3 slow computers can help you folks out. GL

Sincerly,
Gerald Rude
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I find the search for other forms of life to be one of the nobelest pursuits one can undertake in a world full of war and violence. Looking to the stars one cant help but feel that our warmongering has little effect on the universe around us. Making a discovery of how our universe functions, or perhaps discovering another intelligence, is a gift to all of humainity. This gift has the potential of making Humans unite under one collective banner as opposed to our petty squables over wealth and domination.
2) I believe that the goal of this project is very noble, though I am curious about whether or not you are isolating your search to radio waves only.
3) Perhaps requesting that your BOINC software be run as a screen saver at universities and larger businesses. Advertising on Google and other search engines
