Profile: Cosmo

Personal background
Hi my name is Cosmo, I grew up and have spent most of my life living in the state of Wisconsin. I’ve always been a bit of a backyard astronomer. Growing up as a child both my parents where teachers so I spent a lot of summers traveling and camping in the secluded north woods of Wisconsin. My father and my older brother taught me a lot about the stars and planets in the sky when I was growing up. As I did when I was a child I still spend a lot of summer nights getting away from all the city lights to look at the night sky. I have a few favorite locations where I like to set up my telescope, binoculars and my camera all on tripods and gaze for hours. My favorite objects to look at is Jupiter and Saturn, the most impressive display I like to watch is the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights. I also like photographing the night sky capturing conjunctions, comets and gaseous nebula clouds on film.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I’ve wanted to join SETI for the last year or so but because I was on an older computer I never had the resources to do it. Now that I have a new PC I have plenty of extra speed and power for SETI to use. I may be a late comer to SETI but I’m coming on strong and moving op fast in the group that I’m in.
