Personal background
Hi, I am one of those crazies who has seen a UFO and boy have I copped an earbashing about it from almost everyone for as long as I can remember (About 14 witnesses, in sunshine, 3 craft of which the closest passed overhead at an altitude relative to us of less than 30 metres. It was about 15 metres in diameter and there is nothing wrong with my eyesight. Probability of being extrasolar visitors much greater than the probability of being wrong (applying Occams Razor of course)).

Interested in discussing it further (or perhaps you have some interesting info) talk to me on Skype at lyntonmhodson in Australia, or email me at lyntonhodson at bigpond dot com, you can encrypt your email with my public pgp key if you are paranoid like me or write a letter and send it to me at P.O.Box 599, Virginia, Qld 4014, Australia. Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given my sighting of a UFO I can rate at 100% the chances of this SETI project being successful. Considering they have mastered gravity, inertia, the atom, distance and have the resources to visit us at a whim they are most likely at a guess at least a billion years ahead of us. That they are truly bi-partisan (see us as all being equal sacks of garbage - why else would they not talk to us) whatever they decide to do with us they have my full support. I just hope the heavies are not called upon and I am allowed to live in peace.

With regards to seti@home piggybacking on the Arecibo ALFA receiver. All seven pixels are polarised. At a guess most narrowband radio signals would originate from a civilization far advanced from us. Probably using polarization as their preferred method of modulation. The ALFA receiver would most likely disregard these signals as noise. Could not at least one of the seven pixels have been an omnipolar type antenna.

Seems odd. Maybe someone should enlighten me.
