Profile: Major Clanger

Personal background
Hi, my 'real' name is Andy. I'm from England (World Cup winners the year I was born!) I work as a signaller for Railtrack (yes, it's me who makes your train late!) My hobbies are football- Up The Gills! (Gillingham FC), drinking (Larger Lout), astronomy, and music. I've even been known to play a guitar really badly sometimes (sorry to my neighbours!)
I run SETI@Home on an AMD1300 and a P450, both built by myself.
(note: my Sister has just nicked my P450, so I'm just running solo now!)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
(Does ET exists?) I believe they're out there, but as yet there has been no contact, and they haven't visited us.
(Why do you run SETI@Home?) I run SETI@Home because one day... I know the chances of recieving 'The Signal' are much less than winning the lottery, but I'd just wish one of them was a success!
Yes, there is intelligent life out there. It avoids us, because it is intelligent!
What happens if we do find 'The Signal'? We find it hard to get on with our terrestrial neighbours, so how are we going to cope with beings from another world?

Help find ET by joining 'The Clangers' group!
