My name is Marty Bakken. Our family had been part of SETI@home under our old email address, and loved it, and hadn't realized that the project had transferred.
I'm a 58 year-old consultant in organizational change, previously optimistic about the changes in our world, now beginning to worry that our present Administration is leading us into a dark age (and a cold one if global watming shuts down the Atlantic conveyor and triggers a rapid ice age...). So, I hope that we get a signal from other sapient galactic neighbors, and that they are more similar to ET than to the Predators (although I suspect that due to the economies of the evolutionary process, they'll be efficient team-based predators with a thin veneer of civilization, just like us...).
I'd also be interested in the climate change project, and in any efforts to bring us over to a renewable, hydrogen-based economy, as I think the economic impacts on our country and the world would be startling to see. I'd also be interested in studies about the political popularity of war, and the similarities between Germany of the late 1930s and our country since the 2001 judicial coup d'etat. (I recently had an email from a European relative musing that some decades ago, we used to ask: "Where were the good Germans?"...)

| Glad to elp with what could be a momentous project, especially as the Administration continues to reduce primary research money without any clue as to what that does for our economy. The Seti@home concept has a nice flavor of 'democratizing sciecne' to it. |
