Personal background
I am originally from Colorado, but have traveled all over. I am 28 and a filmmaker (though my interests are pretty broad- I had been studying Astrophysics in school, with the hopes of becoming involved in SETI at some point when I was bitten by the "film bug"). My hobbies are SCUBA diving, Taekwon-do, photography, piano and horseback riding.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. To quote from a movie (I am a filmmaker, after all): This could be "the biggest discovery in the history of History." - Jodie Foster, Contact.

2. Well, the above-mentioned movie sums up a lot of things I like about SETI. Discovering other intelligent life in our "galactic neighborhood" would give us a profound sense that none of us are alone- that is, we are not the only ones trying to figure out our place in this universe, reaching out to others to combine efforts in understanding, and driven by similar curiosities. Such a discovery would have a major impact on human interaction, for better or worse. I hope it would be for the best, but no one would be able to predict how we would respond to such news!

3. Suggestions? Hire me! Just kidding. I think SETI@home was one of the best ideas- to use an array of computers almost like you would an array of satellite dishes. Keep it up!
