Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am of the belief that extraterrestrial life almost certainly DOES exist. Whether there is an intelligent and technological race within shouting distance is questionable.
I believe we should send a beacon only if we detect one from elsewhere, at least at the current state of technology. However, we most definitely should continue to identify ourselves on our spacecraft, as was done with the Voyager missions.
I started running SETI@home as a stress/speed test. Now I keep it running because I barely touch the power of this processor.
The only suggestion is that I hope you can get the bandwidth problem solved!
