I signed up for SETI@Home on May 1st, 2000 after I read about it in a computer publication. I've ran SETI on a number of computers over the years, the first one being a AMD K6 233 Mhz with 32mb DIMM and a 2.5gb hard drive. It took a few days for it to crunch one unit. Currently I'm running SETI on 3 computers that are on 24/7. Aside from the technical specs I chose to participate because as everyone else here,
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
