I personally did NOT like the movie Contact though I love and have read everything else Carl Sagan has written.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Yes, I think extraterrestrial life exists and we could discover it anyday. I think if we do discover extraterrestrial life it will cause chaos the world over, but not in an anarchrist way. I'm not sure what the immediate benefit would be, since communication would be difficult at best.
I run SETI@home mostly because its probably the best use being made of my computer and the basic idea of using "wasted" computer cycles is ingenius!
