Profile: Jonathan Manheim

Personal background
I'm a retired software engineer and I live on Bainbridge Island, a 30-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. I love tennis, music, movies and books. I do volunteer work in the area of suicide prevention and awareness, and I tutor math at our local high school. I'm very interested in alternative fuels, particularly biodiesel.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been interested in space exploration and computers, and I love the idea of a massive parallel computing project being used for lengthy data processing. I realize that there is extremely low probability that my own computer will discover the pattern that indicates sentient life, but I am very hopeful that someday this discovery will be made.
