Hi,
My name is Shiv and I live in Bangalore, India. I\\'ve been a SETI member for many years, but with the introduction of BOINC, I couldn\\'t switch over my old account, so I closed it and rejoined under BOINC.
I don\\'t believe in UFOs, crop circles, alien abductions etc. But I do believe that somewhere out there is intelligent life and we must search for it. The human race, with all it\\'s defects, cannot be the only experiment in rational (?????) forms. It probably won\\'t happen in my life time (I\\'m over 50) but I know that sometime, somehow, we will be able to reach out and contact another intelligent life form.
As to the question of whether another life form could be inimical to us and pose a danger to ur existence, I can only say that give the history of the human race, it is the other life form that has more to fear.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run SETI@home because I believe in the project and I can think of no bettr way of using my computers idle processing capacity.
Unfortunately, not enough people outside North America are aware of the SETI program. If awareness could be spread, I am sure a great deal of additional capacity would be available.
Would it not be possible to set up dedicated SETI chat rooms where would could converse with like minded people? Could the statistics be made simpler and easier to understand for non-geeks like me? |
