Personal background
Originally from the Silicon Valley, I moved to the Great State of Idaho to get away from too many people in one place. I'm 33 and I work as a Test Engineer. Basically, I sit in front of a computer all day and design control software for other equipment.

So I don't go insane, I get outdoors as much as I can and help the Fish and Game Department inventory the denizens of the local rivers and lakes. They may be lower life forms, but they can be tricky at times.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As Far as discovering ET's go, I don't think we'll find anything. But the data we are getting gives us interesting things to look at in the universe. I run SETI because this project is worth it just in what we have learned in distributed systems, and data processing. It's a very good model for future developments. Even if we don't find ET per se, what we have learned in implementing this project has been worth the effort.

Great Job Berkeley dudes!
