I am a 60-year-old lady who fell in love with SciFi at the age of 12 when I picked up Robert Heinlein's 'Have Spacesuit, Will Travel' and have never been right since.
I left home when my two daughters did to become a long-haul tractor-trailer driver inorder to see America and help my youngest thru college. Now 19 years later, I'm still driving (it also becomes an addiction) and my daughter has a PHD in psychology. Both give me reason to doubt my sanity at times, as do the 2 little Shih Tzu dogs who travel with me
I live in Arkansas, a beautiful, multi-cultural state with great recreational opportunities. I don't see as much of it as I would like due to my habit of purchasing sacks of SciFi/Fantasy books whenever I see a bookstore, got to pay for them somehow.!)
I raised my girls on dreams of outer space, other beings, and other worlds, in books and movies, everything from Star Trek (I loved the Horta episodes best and cried when Spock died) to Serenity (We want more!!). The closest I can get to space is to work with Seti and be a part to trying to find out what's out there.

| Seti is one of the main reasons I bought my new Laptop with dual cores and a usb broadband wireless connect device with ATT service so I can run data while I'm on the road. My favorite day dream is for Seti to find a signal before I die. It would be fabulous if it was on my computer, but I would settle for it on anyone's. I think this is one of the most important things we have going in concert with the other projects on shared comp time. |
