Hi
My name is Christian and I´m 18 years old and I was born on october the third in Berlin.My first language is german but apart of english(which isn´t the best ;)but enough to understand physical lectures ) I can´t speak any other language.
I´m in the 12. class and I want to study physic...especialy astrophysic...
that math and physic are my favourit subjects should be clear ;).
hmmm why I run Seti@home...in german it would be easier to explain :D...
ok...in a few years my computer will be so old that I have to throw him away...
2 Ghz and 512 DDR-RAM...it´s enough for the next years and I canceled all computergames so I have no problems with his performance...no "oh my god the newest game won`t run!"(I want to say that he should make something more important than just playing music ;) )...I´m also fascinated about science...it`s like a religion I would say...when I had the first time physic in the 8 class I was surprised about the behaviour of the world...objects are getting larger if you warm them up...ok it´s nothing exceptional for the most people :D but when you are thinking there isn´t much more to learn about the world that is blowing up your whole world view!...then one discovery followed the next...and I´m still learning ;)...how you can see science is very important to me and I want to help to make science appreciate to more people(not only to my math and physic hating sister ;) )...I also thing that everybody should help to make the developement of the mankind faster althoug you can discus wether it also could destroy ourself...but I hope that we are intelligent enough not to make this mistake...I really hope that...to connect my PC with the network of Seti@home is one possibility to help science ;)...I want not to discover E.T. who looks like a human :D or like an insect or...I don´t know :)...but when you say:"oh no the possibility to get a contact with extraterrestrial life is 1/100000000000000000 because my calculation says that so lets invest the money in other things...for example tanks...oh I love tanks...lets make a war!"...but what is when somewhere out there somebody things...oh lets send a signal...let us say:"hey universe are we the only intelligent living being? Lets fight against our depression because of the feeling to be lonely and lets look for a sense of life!"...and when nobody hears them because everybody believes that his calculations are right without really knowing all about the universe...wouldn´t it be stupid to be silent and deaf?...to believe in his little naive world view that mankind is the most important thing?...we are existing...the best clue we can have that another species exists is the fact that we are existing!...and I thing there isn´t just a phisical interest behind Seti...it´s also a phylosophical...and I really want to see the faces of the great leaders of the religions of this world when we get a contact :D...maybe we must wait for years, hundred years, million years...but it would be waste if the signal is on a hard drive but nobody want to buy a computer who can find it...so I thought:lets help these poor scientists there will be a time when you also need the help of the people around you ;)...
hmmmm I thing that´s enough...my hobbies are missing...later ;)...
