Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm doing this for the same reason as many individuals here: helping science shed some light over the true nature of this universe, in a brute-force way more or less.
I'm not sure if I can make up my mind about the existence of ET Intelligence. even if it doesn't (or if the Arecibo records aren't accurate enough to tell) then we might uncover/stumble upon some other important facts or a scientific breakthrough.
At any rate, I'm donating resource for this project with a clear conscience (more like a professional gambler's) and so should you.
