Personal background
Welcome to my personal profile. My background is quite varied, starting from a humble start in my early years, beginning with one of the original Bell Systems "radio kits" which satisfied my early curiosity of electronics. (my mother was a Bell System employee for 40 years)This lead to an early fascination with anything electronic leading to a career which now provides my living. I have worked with such giants as Altec-Lansing, bulding their finest amplification equipment by hand, to QC'ing the surface mount division at Hitachi (HICAM) US Computer Corp, working with IBM "Big Blue" project. I currently work both private contracting and with larger American companies in developmental department designs, and also in the IT field as I am also a computer nut. No matter who you are, or what limitations you may perceive that you may have, never give up your dreams, as they are the sparks that keep us alive. My SETI is currently being executed on an Intel Enterprise Server (Columbus III) in my home.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As a Christian in a nation that has long since viewed itself as an "intelligent" society, and with many in today's world thinking that religion cannot mix with "science," I have great reservations taking these people seriously as scholars. With such a wonderful, vast and beautiful universe around us, it would be hard not to believe that God does not have His hand in it. In every culture, in every place on this planet, reaching back to the most ancient of writings and pictographs, we find reference to unexplained "flying" objects depicted. I have no doubt that in this plane of time and space, (and if you believe God created all the universes, that places Him outside of both time and space) we must also conceive that there are other dimensions of both time and space. It is my hope that in this little effort from Berkeley, and the many various institutions involved, we could in our lifetime find others attempting to communicate, either in their own galaxy, or attempting the same as we....to reach the stars.
