Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes most definitely! Humans will discover it once i am dead because i am / will be alive during a period time when star travel etc etc will not be in existance.. but it will happen. More likely than not we will be discovered by another race i believe because we are a piddly race technological immature compared to what other life forms could be. The benefits will be a realisation that we are not important!!!! I feel we take too much pride in thinking we are all that exists and that we are so speacia. Exchange of technology will be a mjor benfit, cure diseases, famine, environmental problems and erradicate weapons (xcept wicked starships etc etc).
2. Umm yes and no.. Yes - we should send them happy peaceful no threatening maths - the universal language! they are intelligent (i assume) so they will understand, because we can be found in our small corner of the universe and register ourselves as existing and interaction can begin!.. No because if a greater evil lurks out there then we would be silly to say "Hi We Are Over Here" and by doing so we are saying that we are developing to a point that will concern them (whoever they are) and they will come and wipe out =(
3.To use unused Ram and to contribute to the future of intergalatic relations. and further resaerch and help bring the goal of contact closer. Also just wicked to see how much i can get done!! The project is good.. inventive and resourceful.. I suggest long time users be sent a couple hundred or so of ram =)
