Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because we live in a world where many people are quick to think that humans are superior to everything living. The problem with that is that they never think of how humankind came to be. The smallest of life spawned adapted and evolved over and over. Some still dont believe we landed men on the moon. When asked of life on other planets, even in our solar system, they laugh. They dont understand that life at the smallest level anywhere can spawn adapt and evolve under the right conditions. The Universe is far to big to comprehend. With so many planets that can support life in our universe the odds are in favor of life. I honestly believe there are intelligent beings in many places. We havent even stepped out of our backyard yet. I believe we are wating for the next genius to come along to contribute to space travel and break ground on the first generation of "warp" speed whenever he/she may come along. This project will no doubt speed things up, and is honest. Our ears are always pointed skyward, but its just too big to hear it all at once. We can all help out. Who knows who or when someone will be the one to have helped in finding another "WOW" signal.
