Personal background
Hello, I am David, 20 years Old. I am from England, but now live in Australia.
I have a few machines but currently only 1 is being used for seti@home classic and boinc. It is my AMD Athlon XP 2800, running @ 2008mhz, 512mb ddr 3200 RAM.

I am soon to build a quad opteron machine with 1gb of memmory per processor and run windows server 2003 enterprise edition. it will be dedicated to running seti and doing my college work, I will use this machine as a second seti processor, and my old machines will be used for the AIDS@home and the few cancer@home projects that are running, as this is the biggest threat to human existance/population... short of us killing ourselves.

I dont know how well boinc performs compared to the classic seti but as far as I can see, running the graphics full screen is a waste of power or a strain.

I see alot of people will miss the seti classic so if there are some programers who want to stop playing about with the millions of music visualisations and do something better, why not take the classic seti, and simply link it to the seti/boinc? I mean think how many people would use your software, you could even include the few ideas like logos and colour schemes, but without effecting performance and I sure as hell would download it.

when I have my quad cpu machine, would somebody kindly help me with a nice version of seti with the ability to use all my cpu's? (also make it look like classic for me, none of this techy sh*t that boinc has... id be greatful) i will include my set up with all the details when it is built.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would like to ask seti/boinc to offer there seti classic again, because i dont like the boinc software, unfortunatly I will have to use it for now because otherwise im not helping with seti project.

ok sudgestion over, i run seti to search for aliens, compete with other users (although not doing well as I was lazy and computer-less for a long time, so i am behind alot of people), and use up all avalible cpu power.

seti is great, i know there has to be another civilisation out there, what else would all this space be good for? and what kind of chance is there that we are the only 1's? slim id say seeing as there must be sextillions of stars out there.

Oh anybody who has a PC, Runs seti... LEAVE YOUR PC AND SETI RUNNING, imagine how much more work would be done if we all RUN SETI ALL THE TIME
