Personal background
Howdy!
My name is Rick Baum, I reside in Delaware County, Oklahoma. My closest mailing address is Grove, Oklahoma 74344. Grove is in the Northeast corner
of Oklahoma, situated 85 miles Northeast of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Grove is a resort town of the Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Grand Lake is
man made during the years between 1939 to the early 40's by the Grand River
Dam Association and is not a Army Corps of Engineers lake. Geographically
it has 1300 miles of lakeshore frontage, that begins 26+ miles north of the
dam, and 10 miles wide approximately.
I bought land here in 1981, which is 12 miles northwest of Grove. My IsP
has a homepage of GCInet.net that can refer ya to statistics, etc. My wife
is of Cherokee desent which was the reason that brought me to this area. I
am now retired, at the age of 58, from the trucking transportation industry
after 25 years. I drove and owned a small trucking firm that was domilsiled
out of Dallas, Texas. So, by living here, just 12 miles east of Interstate
44, put me in a midpoint of the U. S.
I was actually born in Chicago, Ill.; I learned to walk, etc., in Texas;
but schooled in Southern California; went back to Texas in 1975, then made
my final move to Oklahoma in 1984. Ya wanted talk about hearing a mixed up
accent, ya oughtta hear mine.
Anyway, my retirement, that began in 1995 was due to the beginning of a series of back operations that eventually put me on the SSDI role. I must
say that I reckon that the bouncing, on these neglected highways, for 20 +
years was the major contributing factor for my degenerate spinal problems.
Of course playing tackle football from Pee Wee thru high School and riding
a harley since I was 15 didn't help.
Needless say, I feel I am liberal in my independent ways but do vote on
a republican ticket. For y'all trying to picture me, I stand at 6' 3"; and
stay about 222#; have hazel eyes with a graying beard-mustache but do have
long brown hair. I do not drink anymore and my quiting cigarettes is down
averaging a pack every 3 days. Ya can still get cartons at less then $20,
which doesn't help matters. We also still have smoking sections in the majority of restraunts.
If curioUsity wasn't in ya, I reckon ya wouldn't be on this site. So, I
could handle a email or two if ya wish to converse. Take care, God Bless!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't feel that I can honestly give ya my opinion or answe to this due to just signing up. However, to sum it up in one word, it would be CURIOUSITY
