House-mates complain about cost of using heaters but don't care about computer, TV etc.
Installed SETI@home and good CPU fan to keep the room warm.
I have no doubt that life exists out there, but since it's impossible to meet them, or even communicate with them, who cares?
If we find a signal, the sender will be extinct by now.
If we send a signal, we'll be extinct by the time it reaches the dead aliens.
Distant space travel was conceived by people seeking funding.
The money would be better spent on making a nicer home-world. |
