Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Since I was a boy and introduced early to Science Fiction by my Dad I could not see how we could possibly be the only 'intelligent' species in the universe. The magazines always had some science fact articles and these kept Dad and I abreast with the goings on in the scientific community. He had been a believer in space exploration since his days in the '20's and the first steps on the moon were a climax to him proving that his beliefs were well founded. His great belief was that what man can imagine man can do allbeit probably not in the manner first thought of. I like to think that I am helping to further not only his beliefs but also mine and the greater scientific community.
I am not certain we will find radio signals but unless we look we will never know. This is blue water science and who knows what will come out of it.
