Personal background
i'm 15 this year(assuming its yr2003 when your lookin at this) born and bred in S.korea. but i moved to malaysia in '97. i started foolin around with computers when i was about 6? on a win3.1 didn't knwo crap bout it. still works.. if i switch the motherboard..

i'm no computer nerd.. coudln't hunt down a couple viruses thay wormed their way into my comp. i can do the basic things.. install drivers, format comps.. so on. started programming on pascal. its nice. plan to go further into it, tho i'll admit i'm no web designer. can't do a title banner right. other things.. i used to play a little piano.. then i started on guitar for real (hopefully) about 3 weeks after i started on SETI.

at a tender age of 7, i was fascinated by the ability of planes to fly (tho i was on them since i was 4) then, i set my sights higher when my dad showed my mercury on the night sky. the next night, i couldnt' tell which was which, so i decided to search a little further and hence my interest in astronomy. even with that, i'm no astrophysics expert. the most complicated astronomy i can chuck is the doppler effect.

if there's any gamers out there, i play Freelancer.. and Homeworld.. and Simcity 3000(i have a city i'm proud of)

but there is one part of me i'm proud of.. as a korean, i know korean. my mum's chinese. so i know chinese. i've been in an english school since '97, i'm taking extended course in my IGCSEs for english. 3 languages i'm strong in, far more than most ppl here.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI in my opinion is one very worthwhile project, and a very promising way of finding little fellas with multiple heads that go bleep!bleep!, since ther's almost absolutely no chance of finding them visually(though it'll be very apparent) unless they are light years big.

i keep spanking myself as to why i didn't download it the first time i heard about it, back in 1999, then i'll be more highly ranked :(

as for the possibility of the existence of little fellas with multiple heads, i think the possibility is extremely high, possibilty very concentrated in the extremely concentrated region of galaxies (well, astro-geeks should know what i'm talking about) in the map of the universe so far. (we're in the little man-shapeed local group) maybe they've got a whole colony of galaxies inhabited, and that we're the black sheep.

but i think there *might* be intelligent life in our very own galaxy. its big enough for two planets with life, and a greater possiblity in neighbouring galaxies as well. since there are so many stars.. and possibly as many planets.

then again, i've wondered more than once what we would do once we find little fellas with multiple heads. i'm hoping we'll be nice friends.. then again, as we've proven in our past we can't live among even ourselves peacefully, there might be some very major conflicts-which we definitely don't want. i've also wondered what kinda language the little fellas with multiple heads would use. most probably not english, though it'll be more than extremely convenient if they did. most probably sign language wont' work-well you know why.

i think i wrote a tad too much. my english teacher keeps going on about how i write so much.. well eh.. no grades here right..can't wait to drop english for good...
