I was born in 1947, live in Silver Spring with my wife, 2 dogs and now with one cat. I work for the Department of Heath and Human Services in Washington DC and previously worked for the Medicare program for 18 years. When I was a child, my father took me regularly to the Hayden Planetarium where the magic and mystery of outer space and space travel fired my imagination. It was the era of Sputnik....The Day the Earth Stood Still...They Came from Outer Space...just to mention a few culteral phenonena.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The SETI@home project is a great way to involve non-scientists like myself in a scientific persuit. The project represents a primal desire that must have moved our ancestors from the beginning of human consciousness when they looked up to the heavens and wondered...."Is there anyone like us out there?"
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
