1. Yes, the universe is far to big for there not to be anything else out there. We will probably discover something within 100 years. Benefits include exchange of technology and knowledge. Dangers include if they are hostile...
2. How would they be able to decipher the info unless it was in a universal language such as math, or in binary numbers.
