Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? Yes
If so, when and how will humans discover it? As soon as we open our minds and step out of our rational minds. In my opinion, et's are here now.
What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery? Benefits certainly outway the dangers. It will be the next step forward to why we are here.
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? I think that we are transmitting a beacon without even knowing it and its strength.
What information "should" we send, vs. what we "are" sending? We should walk the walk instead of just talk.. do unto others as you would have them do unto you, harmony.. peace, and a true sense of love for every living thing.
Why do I run SETI@home? It's my small contribute to something that I have always believed in.
