Extraterrestrial life exists, if you count the "high council" as extraterrestrial life. God is only a minor, insignificant member of the "high council", and as such he has control of only one out of gazillions of spheres.
It's a worthy cause, to try and make contact with the "high council", but as the mighty "Star Control" creators once said, THEY will contact us only when we will have acheived a good enough technological knowledge.
