Personal background
Originally from Pennsylvania - the Dutch Country - I moved to the New York area to study and chase the dream of being a professional actor, a working actor.

I was fortunate enough to have done more than a dozen commercials on TV, along with a few appearances on "soap operas," and a few movies.

Having the ability to say that I was in an Academy Award-winning movie, is an incredible feeling, even though I had very little to do with the award. I was in Midnight Cowboy way back when I was young and skinny.

I was also a professional rock drummer who had the honor of playing - jamming - with both Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix at the same time, and at other times with other well-known rock and blues musicians.

Looking back, it seems like a dream, like someone else did it all.

From 1974 until a couple of years ago, I was and IT Professional,a Systems Engineer. When my ability to get work in acting slowed down, I went to school and got work in computers, and discovered I had a real love for those binary machines; I love playing with computers and technology.

Now, I just do it for fun mostly; I have very few clients left, after moving a thousand miles away, but I can help them using the lovely remote control apps available these days.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti@home and the other projects because I know that my spare compute power can help solve problems, if linked together with thousands of other people, and I hope that some of those problems can help people improve their lives. It's an incredible project to have all this compute power used for good things, even while hearing about all the negative press hackers get by using their skills for personal gain, in violation of the concept: There is no right way to do the wrong thing!

In addition, I run SETI@Home because I am convinced there are others out there, so to speak, and I want to do everything possible to help find other civilizations, other life forms, etc.

The project is most valuable, to expand knowledge of our universe.
