Profile: Carlos Abner Radillo M.

Personal background
I´m Carlos Abner Radillo, 43 yrs old,Air Force retired, from Tegucigalpa, Honduras, C.A. I currently work as Interpreter/translator (freelancer). I used to be a radar operator for the Honduran Air Force many years ago. Reading is my passion, and among my many subjects of interest, Astronomy and Quantum Physics really get my full attention (Well, almost, Religion is my other passion).I already published a book dealing with a religious issue, and am about to publish 2 more books; one of poetry and another on religion. I recently started writing on what is to become -I hope- a book on religious philosophy.

I once (1986)had the privilege of meeting Col. Steven Nagel, who had flown a couple of missions aboard the Discovery Space Shuttle. I also, was the only child (12 yrs old)to attend a lecture on the Space Shuttle "Columbia" at the Autonomous National University of Honduras back in 1980.

I wish more people to be interested and committed to projects like the SETI initiative. Peace to you all out there...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I joined the SETI@Home project a few yrs ago, mainly because i have always cherised the thought of other intelligent beings besides us. I gladly let my PC to be used to analyze the chunks of data from the Arecibo radio Telescope. In fact, I´m thrilled to be an "indirect" part of this project.

I have read some books from the late Carl Sagan, one of SETI´s patriarchs and even though I agree with most of what he had to say on the subject, particualrly that a two-way conversation between other civilizations and we humans would require thousands of years to take place, I nevertheless, anticipate the day when an intelligent, extra-terrestrial radio signal is picked up by any Radio observatory in the world.

I think SETI@home should do more "marketing" of its vision, so that many more people could join the project.
