Personal background
Going back to school working on a third career. Computers are a hobby and was my last career. During the summer break I fix and load old donated computers for homeless veterans, currently fixing up 50 IBM PII Thinkpads for the homeless program. I am working on a degree in psychology and when I complete my masters plan on volunteering my time working with other vets and their families, and hopefully publish a few articles. If you or your company would like to donate the old systems to help vets who can't afford a computer please send me an email at rmartin25@houston.rr.com and I will get the information to you. Don't throw away those older units... put them to good use. We are currently looking for PII & PIII systems, but will take AMD and Pentiums. I am currently running the seti@home on two PII computers 350 & 366 mhz, a 500mhz celeron, and two 500mhz PIII computers. When I get a computer for the VA finished I let it run a day to make sure it is stable and I'll run seti@home on it for that day.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The discovery will be by accident and throw a monkeywrench into several of our institutions.
