Personal background
I am a technical team leader for WEB application development for two of the Canadian granting councils.

My main hobbies these days have a lot to do with the interests of my children, hence I am a Scout leader where I try to teach self-reliance and a love and respect for nature.

Since we have a pair of nesting Perigrine falcons nesting across the street from my work, I have been doing a lot of sky watching, mostly for birds.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that on a strictly statistical basis, life exists elsewhere in the universe. Whether it is similar, more or less advanced than we are, who is to know.

Looking for signs of advanced life forms is an interesting endeavour and this project gives me the opportunity to contribute in my own small way to one of the great questions of all times: are we alone in the universe.

Should we find signs of life, let us hope that we can make contact before we have thouroughly destroyed our own planet.
