I signed up for Seti@home because as a long time space enthusiast the opportunity to participate in space science work was quite appealing to me.
I believe that if there is extraterrestrial intelligence that we need a project like this to search for communication, otherwise they could well go unnoticed.
With the incomprehensible vastness of the universe, it would be difficult to believe that there were not extraterrestrial intelligent beings, and although they might be so far away that we would never be able to detect them what if they were right around the corner, so to speak? I feel it is important to have an apparatus in place to detect them if they are. |
