Personal background
My Name is Andy Koenigsdorf, I'm german and live in the town Recklinghausen (Germany).

Born here in 1970, went to italy in 1989 for a holiday, but found work and stayed there till 1994. Our army wanted me...

After that I stayed in germany working for several companies in the IT, including IBM.

At the moment I'm using three computers for crunching, but only 2 of them 24/7.

1. AMD 64 3000+, 1GB RAM (SETI@home, CDPN@home, BURP) running 24/7
2. AMD XP 2100+, 512MB RAM (SETI@home, CDPN@home) running 24/7
3. Intel P4 3.2GHz HT, 1GB RAM (SETI@home, Predictor@home) running when it's on

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My favorite quotation is from the film 'Contact' with Jodie Foster: "If we were alone in this huge universe, wasn't it a waste?"

Sorry if it isn't a real quote, it's from my mind and it's translated from german to english. ;-)

But it points out what I mean: There has to be someone!

If we find another civilisation?

I don't know.

If it is worth searching?

All you can bet!
