Profile: Tim Finch

Personal background
My name is Tim Finch and I live in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Sheboygan is on Lake Michigan about a 2 hour drive from Chicago. I recently became interested in astronomy again after a long period of raising kids and pursuing other interests. I came across the SETI at Home site by accident and thought it was an amazing idea.

I'm very happy to help out by running SETI at Home on my computer. What a great idea it was to harness the computing power of thousands like myself who believe there is other intelligent life out there.

My wife and daughter snicker every time SETI at Home kicks on and the search for ET grinds away on my comptuer screen. That's ok, I'll have the last laugh when one day SETI announces contact with alien beings. Until then, they can chuckle at dear old dad all they want..

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because one person can make a difference. This is the most important scientific project ever undertaken and I feel honored to be a part of it. I'm sure many other people feel the same way.

I'm ignorant about the technical details of what SETI does but I believe strongly in the goal. I hope the project will always have the support it needs to continue with the work.
