Personal background
I am a 36 year old IT professional from the Bay Area region of California who recently has undergone a paradigm shift in my thoughts on the existance of the ever elusive and not easily quantified "ET". When I'm not burning the midnight oil trying to find ET, you will find me either socializing with the like-minded members of Broadbandreports.com Team Starfire S@H Club (http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/seti), listening to classical music to relax, or donating some of my free time to help some needy children in the community where I live who are less fortunate then I've been.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always known that it will be *when* and not *if* we discover something so while I still beleive that we are NOT alone in the vastness of the universe, I now think that the goal of this project will not be realized in my lifetime and that the wonder and mystery of a 'First Contact' will fall to the worlds children, or to their grandchildren depending on how difficult the species we end-up making contact with has made the process of finding them.

I crunch to secure a future for humankind in the universe, and that's something I want my decendants to be an active part of.....history.
