Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Although I’m not optimistic that we will find extraterrestrial intelligence in my life time, I’m positive that there is other life in the universe. It would be a bummer if we're all there is. Space exploration would then be just a mining expedition with nothing more to see than what we already get from Hubble. I don’t for a second believe God left us alone in the universe. However, for all I know my cats may be ET’s. They sure seem to think they're are smarter than I am.

SETI@home is a great way for the average guy to see how SETI works. At first when I tell people about SETI@home, I get the usual "what a geek" response but after some explaination they think the project is pretty cool. The more people who get involved the better the chances we will find someone out there. The USA needs to get back into MANNED space exploration.
