Personal background |
Retired in 06/02 as a SMSGT. Last assignment was Oregon Air National Guard F-15s as Combat Plans Super. Age, 61. Occupation is semi-retired/student. Hobbies: astronomy, computers, reading, fitness training.
I had the pleasure to be part of the Apollo Test Team at North American Rockwell, Downey, CA. Worked on the Apollos 4 through 14. The best job I ever had. I got laid off in Aug. 1969 and joined the ANG in AZ. Transferred to CA ANG and became a C-130 Loadmaster, my second best job. Joined the Oregon Air Guard when they got a C-130 and flew until 1988. I was grounded for an RK eye surgery, now the AF will do Lasik on anyone, and became a Logistics Plans Sgt. I attend Mt. Hood College on a VA Voc Rehab program majoring in Computer Apps. I have lived in Gresham, OR for the last 19 years. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. I run SETI@home as my little contribution to the space exploration I was in during my Apollo experience.
2. It excites me to see the data being analized. I often watch it for several minutes at a time.
3. I have loaded "Distant Suns" to try to locate the source of the data being analyzed but I can't get the program to update. It would be nice if ti were possible to have a way to update the "Starry Night" software in the same fashion as I have better luck with their displays than with "Distant Suns". |
