Personal background
Man this is an old profile entry! Its pretty much the same. I'd like to say that now I am a huge fan of democraticunderground.com, my forum name there is prete_nero

everyone SHOULD be interested in politics, its a lot more important then a lot of people think!

Hi, I'm a Music Education Major studying at Northern State University in eastern South Dakota. During the summer I live in the northern black hills area of South Dakota, the area in which I grew up. I am a computer enthusist but its not my main area of interest. Music is a large part of my life as is all the other arts and sciences.
I belive that teaching youth how to appreciate music or arts of any kind and how to express themselves using them is a huge responsibility to everyone with children today. When/if we find and contact other life in the universe it is important to me that they see us as a civilization that understand its history and has an appreciate and talent for fine things such as art. I choose to volunteer my computer time because I think that if we ever are to find signals of life from another part of space that it will be through the passion and effort of everyday people.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run seti@home because I belive it is through normal everyday people that the most power is harnessed and with this potental we can hopefully find signs of other life out there somewhere. Plus I feel an obligation to use my computer's down time in a not completely wasteful way!
