I'm a 29 year male who resides in Invercargill, New Zealand. I work for a local communications company as a radio technician and sometimes an installation technician. It's a fun job and I get to see a lot of different territories. I love martial arts and hold a 3rd Kyu grade in the art of Kendo (The Way Of The Sword). My aim is to reach Shodan grade to prove to myself that if you train hard, you'll succeed.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Because everyone is dying to know if there is other life out there. Why not contribute some spare CPU cycles to the cause to find out if there REALLY IS something out there. Maybe someone will find that elusive candidate signal!
2. It's a great project. It combines the world of Astrophysics with the world of distributed computing. Both subjects I love to follow.
3. Yeah, hire me. I want to work at Arecebo or the VLA in Mex. :)
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
