| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| There is no question in my mind that extraterrestrial life exists. Considering how vast the universe is, it is egotistical to believe that we are the only sentient beings in it. While we will likely never meet these beings, we may be able to share information with them: discover things about their culture and science, and teach them what we've learned. That's why I run SETI@home. I want to contribute to the possibility of making a connection with others many light-years away. Space is too large a place to be searched by just a few scientists - we need as meny people as possible assisting in the effort. |
